After their famous Q2 model, the veteran Bluetooth accessory maker BlueAnt has come up with BlueAnt Q3 Bluetooth headset. It is a premium smartphone earpiece with some key improvements like wideband audio voice control, Siri and Google Voice actions integration from its predecessor Q2.
The design of BlueAnt Q3 hasn’t changed much from the Q2 model. Developed out of plastic, Q3 is light weight and hence very comfortable for daily usage. Features like LED notification light, multi-function command button, volume toggle, and microUSB port are placed on the device. The two microphones are hidden by meshed grill- feature responsible for noise cancellation. Software ensuring major advances in voice control are embedded in BlueAnt Q3. Siri and Google voice helps you have the complete control over the device through voice commands. There is one BlueAnt app for Android users, which reads out your inbox messages. These software are also available in other low end Bluetooth headsets too. There are not much premium software features in Q3.
The sound quality is good, but not exceptional. One could hope for a better sound quality from a high end device like BlueAnt Q3. The A2DP sound quality is also not very fare. If you are looking for some good mono headset, then BlueAnt Q3 is not the best mono headset you are probably looking for. The noise cancellation is also poor at sometimes. Customers have reported that the device easily picks up outdoor noise. On contrary, the wind noise cancellation is very good.
BlueAnt Q3 allows you to connect two different phones simultaneously and you can add up to four calls in the conference mode. It employs true multipoint technology. Conference mode lets you add callers directly from the headset. That is, you can merge two calls and have conference call. It gets RF coverage of 10 meters, just like other devices; there is nothing more or less. It has a very good battery life. It gives up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 180 hours of standby time. The best thing about battery is its rapid charging time. It only takes 30 minutes to charge fifty percentage of the battery.
The whole box comes with premium Smartphone Earpiece, ergonomic ear hook, standard ear gels, stabilizing ear gels, AC adapter, USB cable and user manual. You may not be satisfied with the features BlueAnt Q3 offering, considering it as a premium smartphone headset. It may not be the best Bluetooth headset for the price range. But surely there are many features like comfortable design, light weight, apps like Siri and Google Voice control, conference mode etc makes your life bit easy.
